Board Approves Development of 300 Affordable Housing Units

Staff Report / laxlocal.org

The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, led by Supervisor Hilda Solis, has voted unanimously to authorize the Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) to enter into an Exclusive Negotiating Agreement (ENA) with Linc Housing. This agreement will facilitate the development of over 300 affordable housing units and community space on 1.7 acres of underutilized County parking.

This decision follows a Request for Proposals made in January 2024 that aimed to establish a public-private partnership for the development of the County-owned property. The initiative is a result of years of advocacy from the community and stakeholders for investment in the Chinatown area.

Mock renderings of the proposed project have been released, showcasing the potential transformation of the site. A final design for the project is expected to be developed during the ENA period.
