Teenager Caught With Gun and Drugs After Chase

On September 24, 2024, at around 9:30 AM, a traffic stop was conducted by a Salisbury Police Department officer at the intersection of Light Street and Maryland Avenue. During the stop, a 16-year-old male driver attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by officers soon after.

Upon taking him into custody, police discovered that the suspect was in possession of a loaded handgun, as well as suspected crack cocaine and marijuana. These items were seized as evidence. The young suspect has been charged with firearm-related offenses and with possession of controlled dangerous substances with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school.
