San Francisco Waives Fees for Office-to-Housing Conversions

Staff Report / sanfranlocal.org

San Francisco Mayor London Breed has introduced new legislation aimed at waiving development impact fees and inclusionary housing requirements for office-to-housing conversion projects. This initiative is part of the city’s efforts to revitalize Downtown San Francisco. The goal of the legislation is to help increase the number of residents and students in the downtown area, with an objective of adding 30,000 new residents and students by the year 2030.

The announcement was made by the San Francisco Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) and emphasizes progress towards the city’s 30 x 30 plan. Further updates on this plan’s progress are being tracked and shared by city officials.
