All municipal offices in Akron, Ohio, will be closed on Monday, October 14, 2024, in observance of Italian-American Heritage and Culture Day. This holiday was established by Akron City Council on June 29, 2020, through Resolution No. 184-2020 to honor the history, culture, and contributions of the Italian-American community in Akron and Summit County.

Despite the closure of municipal offices, there will be no delay in trash and recycling pickup during the week of October 14-18.
