Today, the City of Akron honored the firefighters of the Akron Fire Department who lost their lives in the line of duty. The ceremony included remarks from Chris Ludle, the Director of Public Service, on behalf of Mayor of Akron. The event recognized the bravery, service, and sacrifice of 15 fallen firefighters. It also acknowledged the sacrifices made by their families in supporting them throughout their careers. The community was encouraged to work towards maintaining safety in Akron and to continue supporting the firefighters who serve the city.
