"Akron Launches 'File of Life' for Emergencies"

Staff Report / Akronlocal.org

During Fire Prevention Week 2024, the City of Akron, Ohio, is promoting a safety initiative called "File of Life." This program aims to ensure that vital health information is readily available to emergency responders in case of an emergency where a resident is incapacitated.

The Akron Fire Department advises residents to prepare this important document and place it on their refrigerator, where first responders are trained to look for it during emergencies. The "File of Life" document contains essential health details that can assist emergency personnel in providing appropriate care.

Residents can download the File of Life form from the following link: [File of Life form](https://tinyurl.com/54srtsju). The initiative emphasizes personal preparedness and the importance of accessible health information for effective emergency response.
