Library Honors James A. Price Jr. With Benches

Staff Report / Akronlocal.org

Christy Price of Norton has donated a significant amount of money to the Norton Branch Library in memory of her late husband, James A. Price Jr., who passed away on July 18, 2022. Mr. Price was a dedicated Library customer and advocate. The generous donation allowed the Library to purchase two benches, which have been installed at the front entrance, each featuring plaques in memory of Mr. Price and another family member, Tari Mills.

Mr. Price was actively involved in local government, having served as a Norton City councilman for eight years, and held a brief tenure as mayor. The Library held a dedication event for the memorial benches on September 26, attended by the Price family, Library staff, and several members of Norton City Council. Among those present were Ward 4 Councilman Paul Tousley, Council Vice President Don Harbert, and Council President Doug DeHarpart, who read a proclamation from the City of Norton honoring Mr. Price's contributions to the community.
