Wake County Water Partnership Explores Resource Recovery Facility

Staff Report / apexlocal.org

The Wake County Water Partnership team recently toured the Neuse River Resource Recovery Facility and the newly built Bioenergy Recovery Project. Participants included representatives from various municipalities, well owners, and water providers.

During the visit, the team learned about groundwater monitoring efforts within the countywide network. They observed how wastewater, groundwater, and surface water are interconnected through the One Water approach.

The tour also included a demonstration of the water treatment processes that occur before discharge into the Neuse River. This highlighted the significance of wastewater and nutrient management for the future growth and sustainability of Wake County.
