Caldwell Introduces New School Speed Zones for Safety

Staff Report / Caldwelllocal.org

The City of Caldwell has introduced two new school speed zones to enhance safety for students.

At Caldwell High School, located on Indiana Avenue, the speed limit is now set at 20 miles per hour during school hours on school days. The speed zone begins just south of Beech Street and extends to just north of Ustick Avenue.

Meanwhile, at Jefferson Middle School on 10th Avenue, there is also a speed limit of 20 miles per hour during school hours. This school zone starts at Spruce Street and ends at Amber Street.

Both school zones are in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on days when school is in session. This is the first time a lowered speed limit has been implemented for these schools. The Caldwell Police Department urges drivers to be attentive to school zones and adhere to the posted speed limit signs.
