Sarasota County Schools is hosting a district-wide event called Parent University, aimed at providing parents with the resources to enhance literacy at home for their children in grades K-12. The event offers workshops led by experts on fostering literacy at all grade levels, along with hands-on activities, guidance on understanding student data, and resources for further educational support.

The Parent University will take place in two locations:

- **North County**: October 24, 2024, at Sarasota High School, located at 2155 Bahia Vista St., Sarasota, FL 34239 from 5:00 to 7:15 p.m.

- **South County**: November 4, 2024, at North Port High School, located at 6400 W. Price Blvd., North Port, FL 34291 from 5:00 to 7:15 p.m.

Attendees will receive free dinner and childcare during the event. Additionally, there will be available community resources to support families, especially in the wake of Hurricane Milton.

Spaces for this event are limited, so families are encouraged to reserve their spots. More information and registration can be found on the Sarasota County Schools website.
