Brooklyn Library Celebrates 20 Years of Entrepreneurship

Staff Report / nyclocal.org

The Brooklyn Public Library is celebrating 20 years of supporting local entrepreneurs through its PowerUp Business Plan Competition. This year, the library awarded a total of over $40,000 in funds to help Brooklyn's top entrepreneurs start their businesses. Among the recipients are Noël Gaskin and Jovon Browne, who received a check for $20,000 to further their efforts.

The awards ceremony for the 2024 PowerUp Business Plan Competition will take place at the Central Library on November 13. During the event, local business owners will present their pitches, and attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the Audience Choice award.

The competition is supported by Dime Community Bank, contributing to the continued funding and encouragement of entrepreneurial endeavors in Brooklyn. For more details, visit the Brooklyn Public Library's website.
