Akron Honors Sylvia Trundle with Proclamation Day

On Thursday morning, Akron Mayor presented a proclamation to Sylvia Trundle during Leadership Akron’s Lieberth Community Vision Award Breakfast. Trundle was recognized for her significant contributions to the Akron community, having been the first member of the Akron Police Department to serve as a Public Information Officer.

Throughout her career, Trundle has dedicated herself to various boards and committees, providing mentorship to police officers and others in the community. She is also known for her advocacy for small businesses, the arts, and young women. In honor of her work, Mayor proclaimed Thursday, November 7th, 2024, as “Captain Sylvia Trundle” Day in Akron.
