Akron Opens State-of-the-Art Fire Station 12

The City of Akron announced the opening of the new Fire Station 12, located on Hawkins Avenue. This state-of-the-art facility features technology designed to reduce cancer-causing agents that firefighters may absorb while on duty. The completion of this fire station is aimed at improving community safety and the well-being of firefighter medics.
Acknowledgments were made to Fire Chief Henderson, both current and past fire leadership, as well as contractors involved in the project, including Kenmore Construction and Metis Construction Services. The city also expressed gratitude to council members and city staff for their collaboration in making this new fire station a reality.
