Akron Police Offer Holiday Shopping Safety Tips
Staff Report / Akronlocal.org
As the holiday shopping season begins, the Akron Police Department is reminding residents to take precautions to ensure their safety while shopping. Here are some important safety tips:
1. If possible, shop during daylight hours and remain aware of your surroundings.
2. When parking, choose well-lit areas. Always lock your doors, close your windows, and store any bags in the trunk of your vehicle.
3. Keep your purse, wallet, and cash close to you. Avoid carrying too many packages to remain nimble.
4. Stay cautious of strangers who may approach you. They could be trying to distract you for malicious purposes.
The Akron Police Department encourages everyone to follow these guidelines to help ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday shopping experience.
