**Akron Fire Department Offers Free Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detectors to Residents**

The Akron Fire Department (AFD) is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of residents by distributing smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors to homes in need on Akron's West Side. AFD's Community Services Division has been conducting a door-to-door initiative, reaching out to homeowners and occupants to offer these potentially life-saving devices.

This program is part of an ongoing partnership between the AFD and the American Red Cross. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and spread the word to others who may benefit from the initiative.

To participate in the program or to learn more, residents can contact the Akron Fire Department at 330-375-2197. This outreach is part of the AFD’s continuing efforts to enhance community safety and preparedness.
