**Akron Police Department Urges Responsible Celebrations for New Year’s Eve**
Akron, Ohio – The Akron Police Department has issued a reminder to the community to celebrate the upcoming new year responsibly. Officials emphasized the importance of avoiding drinking and driving during celebrations.
The department encourages the use of safe alternatives such as designating a sober driver, calling for transportation, or taking advantage of the “Arrive Alive” program. This initiative is sponsored by the Summit County Sheriff's Office and the Summit County Prosecutor's Office.
