**City of Akron Announces Key 2024 Accomplishments**
Akron, Ohio – The Mayor's Office shared highlights of five major achievements from 2024 so far, showcasing progress in infrastructure, connectivity, sustainability, and community development.
1. **Demolition of Former Word Church Building**
The city successfully demolished the former Word Church building, paving the way for future development and revitalization of the area.
2. **Partnership with SiFi Networks for Broadband Access**
Akron announced a partnership with SiFi Networks to deliver citywide broadband access, a move aimed at improving digital connectivity and accessibility across the community.
3. **Groundbreaking for Reservoir Pool & Community Center**
Akron broke ground on a new Reservoir Pool and Community Center. This facility is expected to serve as a hub for recreation and community events, benefiting residents of all ages.
4. **Joining Power a Clean Future Ohio Community**
Akron became the 50th member of the Power a Clean Future Ohio Community, committing to efforts focused on sustainability and clean energy.
5. **Selection for Bloomberg American Sustainable Cities Program**
