Staff Report / Akronlocal.org
**Saturday Morning Snow and Ice Update for Akron**
The City of Akron has announced updates regarding snow and ice management for this weekend. Crews will be salting and plowing roads throughout Saturday morning and early afternoon to address the winter weather conditions. Additional snowfall will be evaluated, and adjustments to the response plan will be made based on the situation. Crews are also scheduled to be out on Sunday, preparing for another round of snow expected to continue into Monday.
Residents needing snow removal or salting for their residential streets are encouraged to submit a request online at [akronohio.gov/311](http://akronohio.gov/311) or through the Akron311 app. The city's snowplow tracker is undergoing upgrades and remains temporarily offline. Efforts are underway to bring the system back online as soon as possible for accurate tracking and reporting.
For those in need of shelter, the emergency overnight shelter located at 111 E. Voris Street is open nightly starting at 7 PM. Additionally, the city's warming center will operate tomorrow, beginning at 8 AM, at the Summit Lake Community Center.
Stay safe and stay informed with further updates.
