**Akron Fire Cadets Learn Hands-On Skills with Firefighting Tools**

AKRON, OHIO – Fire cadets in Akron received valuable hands-on training with essential firefighting tools, thanks to the Akron Fire Department, Engine 8, and Ladder 8. Earlier in the day, the cadets had attended a lecture that outlined the use of various tools and equipment used during fire incidents.

Under the guidance of both rookie and veteran fire company members, the cadets had the opportunity to practice with tools of the trade. Training included handling and using ground ladders, with cadets learning skills such as ladder carries, placement, and raises on buildings.

The Akron Fire Department expressed their encouragement for the cadets, emphasizing the importance of continual learning and skill-building. More updates on the cadet program are expected in the future.

This session reflects an ongoing commitment to preparing Akron Fire Cadets for real-world firefighting scenarios.
