Library Expands Access with Mobile Services in Akron

Staff Report / Akronlocal.org

**Mobile Services Brings Library to Akron Residents**

The Akron-Summit County Public Library expands its reach with Mobile Services, an initiative designed to connect underserved community members with library resources. Through bookmobiles, a lobby stop van, and the Library Express Delivery Service (LEDS) for homebound individuals, Mobile Services ensures that library materials make their way to those who may not have easy access to a branch.

The library encourages residents to participate in its passport program, known as the Library Passport. As part of the program, individuals can collect stamps, one of which can be obtained from Mobile Services' bookmobile. Today, the bookmobile is stationed on High Street outside the Main Library and will remain there until noon.

To stay updated on where the bookmobile will appear next, residents can call 330.643.9055 or follow the Akron-Summit County Public Library on Facebook and Instagram. More details about the Library Passport can also be found on the library's website at [www.akronlibrary.org/150](https://www.akronlibrary.org/150).

This service aligns with the library's mission to ensure the whole community has access to its wealth of resources, literacy programs, and learning opportunities.
