**North High School DECA Brings Holiday Joy to Harris-Jackson CLC Students**

Akron, Ohio – In a gesture of community spirit and holiday cheer, North High School's DECA program bought Christmas gifts for ten students at Harris-Jackson CLC on December 17, 2024. The initiative was made possible through generous donations of $500 each from Faith Family Church and the North High School DECA program.

The gifts were presented to the students by Mr. Eric Mathews, DECA Adviser, along with his student leaders. School Counselor Ms. Lisa Heath shared her reaction, saying, “Seeing the kids’ excitement was heartwarming.” Mr. Mathews praised the efforts of his team, stating, “It was rewarding to see my scholars’ pride.”

Tapash Bhattarai, North High School DECA President, expressed his pride in the program, remarking, “I’m proud to be in this pathway.” The event exemplified the importance of community partnerships and the value of giving back during the holiday season.

This act of kindness reflects Akron Public Schools' commitment to fostering community engagement and spreading joy through their Be Kind 330 initiative.
