Akron Resolves Incorrect Property Tax Assessments Issues

**City of Akron Addresses Incorrect Property Tax Assessments**
The City of Akron has announced that some property owners have received higher-than-usual special assessments for street cleaning and lighting on their recently mailed property tax bills. After a review, it was determined that a small number of properties were erroneously billed.
Properties most affected include those with frontage on multiple streets, certain condominium properties, and some exempt properties that should not have been assessed. The city of Akron is working to rectify the situation by delivering corrected bills to the Summit County Fiscal Office. These will then be sent directly to the impacted property owners.
Residents who are unsure about the accuracy of their bills or have additional concerns are encouraged to contact the City of Akron Assessments Division at 330-375-2484.
