**Akron Public Schools Recognizes January Student-Athletes of the Month**
Akron Public Schools has announced the winners of its January "Student-Athletes of the Month" award. The honorees, Caitlyn Holmes and Curtis Cooper, were recognized for their exemplary performances both in sports and academics.
Caitlyn Holmes, a senior at Ellet CLC, has led her basketball team to a remarkable 17-2 record this season. As the school's all-time leading scorer, she has proven herself to be a key player on the court. In addition to her athletic achievements, Caitlyn excels academically, maintaining a spot on the merit roll. Her hard work and talent have earned her a commitment to Kent State University as a basketball student-athlete.
Curtis Cooper, a senior at Garfield CLC, has been a standout leader for the boys' wrestling team this season. Despite injuries affecting some of his senior teammates, Curtis has shown resilience and dedication, stepping up for his team. His commitment extends beyond athletics, as he maintains an impressive 3.88 GPA while excelling in competition.
Akron Public Schools congratulates both Caitlyn and Curtis for their accomplishments and celebrates their contributions to their teams and schools.
