Dive into Reading, a summer reading program, is expanding to North Port. The program partners with Sarasota County Schools, the Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, and Shuckin' Good Cause to provide reading mentors for students at Emma E. Booker and Cranberry Elementary Schools.

Community members interested in mentoring are invited to attend one of the three training sessions. Training will be held on May 1 at The Landings Blue 219 from 9 to 10 AM, or on May 15 at Cranberry Elementary or Emma E. Booker Elementary, both from 9 to 10 AM.

Reading sessions will take place on June 6, 10, 17, and 24 from 8:30 to 10:30 AM. Mentors may choose between two locations: Anna Maria Oyster Bar in North Port and Gecko's Grill & Pub on Fruitville Road.
