Apex Chosen for New NC Children's Hospital

Wake County has been announced as the location for the new North Carolina Children's Hospital. The facility will be built in the Town of Apex, an area known as the "Peak of Good Living." During the announcement, Commissioner Cheryl Stallings revealed that Wake County will invest $4.5 million to create more than 100 new beds for pediatric behavioral health patients. Officials noted that increasing the number of available beds is important because demand currently exceeds supply in the state. Additional details about the project and its benefits for Wake County are available online.
