Geneva Students Explore Seneca History and Culture

Students from Geneva City Schools recently visited Ganondagan State Historic Site and the Seneca Art and Culture Center. The fourth graders explored the history and daily life of the Haudenosaunee, focusing on the Seneca Nation. Inside a full-size longhouse replica, the students observed how families lived together and learned about the Haudenosaunee's use of natural resources to meet their needs. They also learned about traditions, storytelling, and art, and they participated in a traditional game known as long ball. The field trip allowed students to connect classroom lessons with hands-on experiences.
