Apex Elementary Recognizes Impactful Staff Contributions
Apex Elementary School in Apex, North Carolina, was recognized during Shoutout Tuesday for the contributions of two staff members. Melissa McCullen, the school’s social worker, has built authentic relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners. She has led initiatives to provide families with essential resources, including food, hygiene products, and holiday gifts, and has worked to remove barriers to student success.
Ms. Gabriella Evans, the school nurse, has supported the diverse health needs of students. She works to help students build skills in self-regulation, communication, and self-advocacy. In her role, she collaborates with teachers, administrators, and staff to meet students’ health needs and support classroom success.
The event was supported by the Apex Elementary PTA, FRESH Local Ice Cream, McDonald’s of Apex and Harnett County, Wake County Public School System, and the Town of Apex Government.
