Geneva earns 17th Tree City USA designation

The City of Geneva was honored at the New York State Urban Forestry Council’s annual recognition event on March 12, 2026, in Fayetteville.

DPW Director Joe Venuti and Buildings & Grounds staff member John Carroll represented the city, joined by Gloria Van Duyne of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

In partnership with the New York State Urban Forestry Council, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the Arbor Day Foundation, the event recognized 210 Tree City USA and Tree Campus recipients statewide.

Geneva first applied for Tree City USA in 1999 and has earned the designation for 17 years, reflecting its continued commitment to urban forestry.
