DEA Take Back Day set for Geneva, N.Y.

Geneva, N.Y. — The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says DEA Take Back Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Geneva Wegmans, 300 Hamilton Street, in Geneva.

The event is a partnership with Ontario Cares, the City of Geneva Police Department and Ontario County Public Health. Organizers say the effort helps prevent medication misuse and protect the community.

Participants can turn in unused or expired medications for safe disposal. The program accepts outdated, unusable medications, liquids and sharps in a puncture-proof container. There is no cost and no questions; drop off and go.

DEA Take Back Day is part of the DEA National Take Back Day initiative. The event carries the slogan Keep them safe. Clean them out. Take them back.
