HWS Day Highlights Student Research, Service, Philanthropy

Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, N.Y., reported more photos from HWS Day, including West African dance and drums in Saga Dining Hall and “What’s the Buzz?,” a deep dive into cannabis through the lens of science and history. Students showcased research and engagement across disciplines.

Students’ involvement in the local community also took center stage. At the Community Engaged Scholarship Forum, they shared findings from their service-learning projects. Thanks to the generosity of Mike ’92 and Christina Gantcher P’27 and the Gantcher Family Foundation, students in “Philanthropy in Action” explored the power of giving through $25,000 in check presentations supporting FLACRA, Geneva Business Improvement District, Family Counseling Service of the Finger Lakes and Seneca Lake Pure Waters.
