Akron Police Department seeks community help after mass shooting.

In the early hours of Sunday, June 2nd, the Akron Police Department received multiple reports of gunshots in the area of Kelly Ave. and 8th Ave. Soon after, local hospitals notified authorities that they were treating 25 individuals with gunshot wounds, one of whom has tragically passed away. The investigation into this incident is still in its early stages, with no additional information on the suspects or victims currently available.

Mayor Malik and Chief Brian Harding have expressed their shock and sadness over this senseless act of violence, emphasizing the need for community assistance in bringing the perpetrators to justice. They urge anyone with information to come forward, even anonymously, to prevent further violence and help solve this case. The city government and Akron Police Department are committed to prioritizing public safety and addressing gun violence in the community.
