**Heavy Rainfall From Francine Brings Flood Watch to Western Middle TN**

**September 12, 2024, 3:28 AM**

A Flood Watch is currently in effect for portions of western Middle Tennessee due to the heavy rainfall anticipated from the remnants of Hurricane Francine. The National Weather Service reports rain is expected to continue through the weekend, with the heaviest rainfall projected for Thursday and Friday.

Forecast rain totals through Monday night are as follows:

- Clarksville: 3-4 inches

- Waverly: 4-5 inches

- Nashville: 3-4 inches

- Smithville: 2-3 inches

- Columbia: 4-5 inches

- Tullahoma: 2-3 inches

- Jamestown: 1-1.5 inches

- Crossville: 2-3 inches

Overall, the region could see 3 to 5 inches of rain, leading to potential minor flooding, particularly in poorly-drained and low-lying areas.

Residents are advised to have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and to avoid driving through flooded roadways. The Flood Watch will remain in effect until Saturday morning. Those in Spring Hill can expect about 4-5 inches of rain as the storm moves through the area.

For safety, remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown if you encounter flooded roads. Stay tuned for ongoing forecast updates as rainfall amounts can vary based on where the heaviest rainbands occur.
