Union County Gun Surrender Event Scheduled for October 5

The Union County Prosecutor's Office, in collaboration with various local law enforcement agencies, is hosting a Gun Surrender Program on **Saturday, October 5, 2024** from **9:00 AM to 4:00 PM**. This program is part of a county-wide initiative aimed at reducing gun violence and enhancing community safety.

Residents are invited to surrender unwanted firearms, ammunition, and prescription drugs at designated locations throughout Union County. The program is an amnesty initiative, meaning no questions will be asked about the items surrendered. All surrendered items will be disposed of in compliance with federal and state laws.

The following locations will be available for surrender:

- **Berkeley Heights**: Town Hall, 29 Park Ave.

- **Clark/Westfield**: Holy Trinity Church, 512 Westfield Ave., Westfield

- **Cranford**: Public Works Roundhouse, 364 E. North Ave.

- **Elizabeth**: Snyder Academy, 42 Broad St.

- **Fanwood/Scotch Plains**: St. Bartholomew's Church, 2023 Westfield Ave., Scotch Plains

- **Garwood**: Borough Hall, 403 South Ave.

- **Hillside**: First Baptist Church of Hillside, 166 Hillside Ave.

- **Kenilworth**: VFW, 33 S. 21st St.

- **Linden**: JTG Center, 330 Helen St.

- Additional locations from other municipalities including New Providence, Plainfield, Rahway, Roselle, Roselle Park, Scotch Plains, Springfield, Summit, Union, Westfield, and Winfield will also participate.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity for a safe and responsible disposal of any firearms or other hazardous items.
