Lauster Unveils "Here Still" Art Collection in Dundee

Darryl Lauster, an Intermedia artist and writer from the Hudson Valley, New York, is presenting a new art collection titled Here Still in Dundee. The collection features objects and prints that explore the significance of place, the passage of time, and the power of objects. Lauster’s work includes intimately sized bronze sculptures created through daily interactions with his historic 150-year-old barn studio, evoking whimsical reflections on collective nostalgia.

Lauster’s art has been exhibited at venues both nationally and internationally, including the Amon Carter Museum, the National Metal Museum, the Cameron Museum of Art, Crystal Bridges, and the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston. His work is also part of the permanent collections at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, McNeese State University, and the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.

The opening reception for Here Still will take place on Friday, January 2 from 5 to 7 p.m. The event will feature music by seasoned guitarist Wayne Gottlieb, who brings a repertoire spanning jazz and traditional country music and is a member of The Pelotones and The Village Swing Trio. Local businesses Billsboro Winery, Black Crow Bakery, and Lake Drum Brewing are supporting the opening reception. The exhibition will run from January 2 through February 1.
