Wake County Launches Annual Book Drive Initiative
Wake County Public Schools in Apex, North Carolina, has announced the 2026 WAKE Up and Read Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader Annual Book Drive. The event aims to provide children throughout Wake County with access to new or like-new, high-quality books. Last year, the coalition provided more than 71,000 books to 15,000 students.
The book drive is open now through February 20. To participate, individuals can host a book drive, drop off gently used or new books for ages baby to 12 years old at designated locations, shop from wish lists, or make a financial donation.
