Apex official urges proper recycling to curb contamination
Apex, N.C. — City officials urge residents to recycle correctly to prevent contamination of curbside recyclables, noting electronics should be taken to the South Wake Multi-Material Recycling Facility at 6130 Old Smithfield Rd. (open Monday–Saturday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m.) and textiles donated or dropped at Wake County centers near Apex (6120 Old Smithfield Rd.), as the average person discards about 70 pounds per year and only about 20% of donated clothing is sold in thrift stores.
