Geneva Fire Department to conduct training near hospital landing zone
Geneva, N.Y. — The City of Geneva Fire Department, along with several mutual aid departments, will conduct firefighter training exercises Saturday morning in the area of the hospital landing zone, the city said in a public notice.
Training activities will include Mercy Flight helicopter operations and live-fire exercises using a propane training prop. Residents and visitors in the area may notice emergency vehicles, firefighters, smoke, flames and helicopter activity, the notice said.
The notice emphasized this is a scheduled training exercise and there is no emergency. For public safety, the training area will be closed to the public. People are asked to avoid the immediate area and to follow all directions from emergency personnel on scene.
The city thanked residents for their cooperation and continued support as firefighters train and prepare to serve the community.
