Cornell Experts Address Climate Challenges at NYC Event
Staff Report / FLXlocal.org
Cornell University will be represented at Climate Week NYC, taking place from September 22 to September 29. During this event, Cornell experts will present environmental food policy ideas, propose carbon solutions for the travel industry, explore methods to reduce agricultural methane emissions, and participate in a symposium on nuclear energy.
Ben Furnas, the executive director of the 2030 Project: A Cornell Climate Initiative, emphasized the university's ability to share its scientific, business, and technological expertise. The initiative is part of the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability and is involved in organizing Cornell's participation in the event, which aligns with the United Nations General Assembly's environment programming.
Furnas noted that Cornell is focused on providing practical solutions to global environmental issues, rather than just theoretical discussions.
