Columbus Youth Grant Program Supports 46 Non-Profit Organizations
Staff Report / cbuslocal.org
The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department announced that 46 grantees participated in this year’s Summer Youth Grant Program. This program is a collaboration with the Department of Neighborhoods Columbus and Mayor Andrew J. Ginther’s office, which provides grant funding to local non-profit organizations that offer summer programming for youth aged 5 to 18 in Columbus.
This year, nearly $3.5 million was allocated to support the initiatives of these 46 organizations. The programming funded by the grants includes academics, sports, behavioral health, mentorship and leadership academies, urban farming, and job readiness programs. The goal of the grant program is to improve academic performance, develop workplace skills, and promote non-violent conflict resolution among young people in the city.
The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department expressed gratitude to the grantees for their role in providing safe and enriching summer opportunities for youth in Columbus.
