Long Street Bridge Celebrates 10 Years of Connection

Staff Report / cbuslocal.org

The Long Street Bridge and Cultural Wall in Columbus, Ohio, is marking its 10th anniversary this year. The bridge was unveiled in 2014, serving to reconnect the King-Lincoln neighborhood with downtown Columbus. This project aimed to bridge the divide that was created by the construction of I-71.

The Cultural Wall was designed by local artists and features depictions of notable residents from the area, including Amos Lynch, Archie Griffin, and Aminah Robinson. The Columbus Metropolitan Library, alongside the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission and Shannon G. Hardin, is involved in the celebrations in the King-Lincoln Bronzeville area.
