Ontario County is hosting a composting event for pumpkins and other organic materials. The event will accept pumpkins, gourds, flowers, hay, and corn stalks. However, no plastic or metal items will be accepted.

The composting event will take place on the following dates and times:

- November 2nd from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM

- November 9th from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM

Three locations will be available for residents to drop off their materials:

1. Ontario County Parking Lot, Corner of Ontario Street and Pleasant Street, Canandaigua.

2. Town of Geneva Transfer Station, 32 White Springs Road, Geneva.

3. Town of Victor Transfer Station, 60 Rawson Road, Victor.

There is no registration required for this event, and all locations are open and free to Ontario County residents.

For more information, residents can visit OntarioCountyRecycles.org. The event is organized by the Ontario County Department of Sustainability and Solid Waste Management.
