**Scam Alert Issued by Akron Police Department**

AKRON, OHIO – The Akron Police Department (APD) has issued a warning to local residents regarding a phone scam targeting the community. According to the report, scammers are impersonating a nonexistent officer named "Lt. Scott Waller" to intimidate individuals.

The scammers claim to be from the APD, attempting to convince residents they have "documents received today" or that they missed jury duty and now face an arrest warrant. The APD has clarified that there is no Lt. Scott Waller in the department and emphasized that the police do not contact citizens about jury duty matters.

Residents are advised not to engage with the caller and to hang up immediately if they receive such a call. The Akron Police Department is committed to keeping the community safe and informed.
