**Florida Highwaymen Art Exhibit on Display at Sarasota City Hall**

The City of Sarasota is highlighting Black History Month with a special exhibit featuring the works of the Florida Highwaymen. The exhibit is currently on display at Sarasota City Hall and has garnered significant attention through media coverage, including a segment by ABC Action News - WFTS - Tampa Bay, which airs starting Friday, February 21.

Art enthusiasts and community members have the opportunity to experience the collection firsthand during City Hall’s regular hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, a free lecture and exhibit tour led by art historian Roger Lightle of Highwaymen Art Specialists Inc. will take place on Thursday, February 20, at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Lightle, who generously loaned the artwork for the exhibit, will delve into the significance and history of the Florida Highwaymen art movement.

The City of Sarasota has emphasized the importance of this collection in celebrating Black artists and their contributions during Black History Month. Both the lecture and the exhibit are open to the public, providing a unique opportunity to learn about and appreciate this iconic body of work.
