**Acclaimed Author Fran Wilde to Appear at Akron Book Fest on March 8**

The Akron-Summit County Public Library has announced that two-time Nebula Award-winning author Fran Wilde will be appearing at the Akron Book Fest on March 8. Wilde, alongside other notable authors J.L. Ender, Terri Libenson, and Merrill Wyatt, will participate in a panel discussion titled **"BeTWEEN the Shelves."** The panel will explore the world of middle-grade fiction and offer attendees the opportunity to engage with the authors and ask questions about the genre.

Fran Wilde is a celebrated author with an impressive career spanning eight published novels, a poetry collection, and over 70 short stories for readers of all ages. Her works have been recognized as finalists for six Nebula Awards, four Hugo Awards, four Locus Awards, a World Fantasy Award, and the Lodestar. Wilde’s debut novel, *Updraft*, received the Nebula Award and the Compton Crook Award, while her middle-grade novel *Riverland* won the Nebula Award and was listed as a Best of NPR selection in 2019.

In addition to her novels, Wilde’s short stories have featured in prominent publications such as *Asimov’s Science Fiction*, *Tor.com*, *Nature*, *Uncanny Magazine*, and various best-of-year anthologies. Outside her fiction writing, Wilde contributes nonfiction pieces to respected outlets like *The Washington Post*, *The New York Times*, NPR, and *Tor.com*. She also serves as the Managing Editor for *The Sunday Morning Transport* and has taught at institutions including Vermont College of Fine Arts and St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
