HWS Students Combat Hunger, Support Local Families

Hobart and William Smith Colleges reports that students are aiding local families and fighting hunger through various initiatives. The Food Recovery Network rescued and redistributed more than 11,000 pounds of food. The HWS Student Government raised over $1,300 for Hearty Meals in a Bag, a program that supports families in need. In addition, student volunteers from Phi Sigma Kappa, ORAP, Hobart basketball, and HWS Rotaract helped restock the food pantry at Our Lady of Peace Parish after a fire destroyed holiday meals intended for families.
