The attacks resulted in the deaths of thousands, including police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and other first responders. The department highlighted that many first responders who were present at the site of the attacks continue to face health issues and fatalities due to the exposures they encountered during their service. The message conveyed was one of remembrance and honor for those who sacrificed their lives.
