Beloved Transportation Staff Member Richard Waddell Passes Away

Spartanburg County School District Six has announced the passing of Mr. Richard Waddell, a member of their transportation department. Mr. Waddell died on Wednesday due to complications from pneumonia. He was known for his friendly demeanor and positive attitude, significantly impacting those around him.

Mr. Waddell was dedicated to his job as a bus driver, often referring to the students he transported as his "babies." He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys, passionately supporting his team. He is survived by his wife, Terry, and two children, son Caleb and daughter Carrie, who also works in the transportation department. Additionally, he leaves behind a granddaughter named Hattie Marie and two dogs, Dallas and Sadie Jo.

The school district expressed deep condolences to Mr. Waddell’s family and noted that his absence will be felt throughout the community.
