Akron Police Department Mourns Rev. Dr. Bob Denton

The Akron Police Department has announced the passing of Rev. Dr. Robert (Bob) Denton over the weekend. He served as the APD chaplain for more than 40 years. Dr. Denton was the founder of the Furnace Street Mission and the Bob Denton Safety Forces Support Center, which provides support for first responders facing mental, physical, or emotional health issues. Additionally, he established the Victim Assistance Program of Summit County.
Dr. Denton held various roles throughout his life, including minister, counselor, police officer, social worker, and professor. His contributions to the community and the lives he impacted are being remembered by many.
