Fall Reading Festival Starts Today at Heritage Park!

Staff Report / jaxlocal.org

The Fall Reading Festival is happening today at A. Philip Randolph Heritage Park in Jacksonville, Florida. The event runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is free to all VPK and school-age children and their families. Attendees can enjoy a variety of activities including games, face painting, storytimes, and giveaways.

Special guests and authors will read from two selected books of the JaxKids Book Club. “Jackson the Cummer Cat” will be read at 4 p.m., followed by “Oscar & Olive” at 5 p.m.

Throughout the festival, there will also be StoryWalk® tours available. StoryWalk® is a project that places mounted posts featuring pages from children’s books along walking trails in public parks. This initiative is in collaboration with various organizations, including Jax Parks and Read Jax, and celebrates the opening of the new StoryWalk® at the park.

The festival receives support from numerous partners, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida, the Blue Zones Project Jacksonville, the City of Jacksonville, ELC of Duval, Florida Blue, and more.
