Apex, Wake County Repurpose Christmas Trees for Trails

The Town of Apex in North Carolina is partnering with the Wake County Happy Trails Program to transform undecorated Christmas trees into mulch for use on Wake County Parks trails. Residents can drop off their trees at two designated locations:

• 6120 Old Smithfield Road, Apex

• Harris Lake at 2112 County Park Drive, New Hill

The program accepts trees now through January 31, 2026. All facilities will be closed on New Year’s Day (Thursday, January 1). For further details, residents can check the provided event information under the “Holiday Edition” and “Christmas Tree Recycling” sections.
